    How does it work?

Fat Freezing works by a process known as Cryolipolysis or Cryotherapy, which essentially refers to the destruction of fat cells by rapidly cooling or ‘freezing’ the targeted area for a set amount of time.

Following treatment, the fat cells begin to break down over the course of 6 weeks and are naturally and safely eliminated from the body.Fat Freeze is not however a weight-loss solution and should only be considered an addition to a healthy diet and exercise.

During treatment, the applicator will use controlled cooling to lower the temperature of the fat cells to the precise point at which they become damaged.

During Treatment

During the treatment, you will typically feel intense cold for the first few minutes. As the treated area numbs, this will become bearable. You may also feel some pulling or suction with some applicators.

    Most of our  treatments require a minimum of two (2) cycles, which are performed on the same day.

    As the treatment is customised to your desired goals, further cycles may be required to achieve optimal results. Our trained  technicians will listen to your ultimate body goals and tailor a treatment plan, discussing with you how many cycles will need to meet your desired personal outcomes.
     

    After Treatment

    Following treatment, you may feel some tingling. Your technician will then massage the area for 2 minutes.

    Clients may experience redness and firmness in the area for a few hours following treatment. Some transient blanching and/or mild bruising may present around the edges of the treatment area. Some tingling and stinging may also be experienced.

    Most clients can resume their usual everyday activities immediately following their treatment.

    Pre care 

    Avoid laser hair removal and waxing to the treatment area for 2 weeks prior.

    For this treatment on the chin only, please avoid injectables in the face and neck are for 2 weeks prior.

    On day of treatment, come hydrated and eat prior.

    After care 

    Fat freezing is a non-surgical treatment, so most clients can resume normal activities immediately following treatment.

    Light exercise, such as walking is recommended on the day of treatment. Heavy gym workouts are not recommended. Increase water intake to help flush toxins out of the body for up to 3 days. Constant hydration is important. Compression garments can be worn in the treatment area.

What to expect?

During the appointment, the Lipo Freeze device will be placed on the targeted area, where a light suction will draw the area into the device. The area will then be rapidly cooled between -5 to -11 degrees celcius. On average, the sessions last 45 minutes, however areas such as under the chin, require significantly shorter session times.

While Lipo Freeze is considered pain free, you can expect to feel intense cold at the onset of the treatment. This will subside within a few minutes as the area goes numb. You may also experience a pinching or pulling sensation from the suction of the device.

Following treatment, you can safely resume normal activities immediately.
When can I expect to see results?

You will begin to see results within 6 weeks of treatment.  The removal of the fat cells happens through the body’s natural elimination system, and this does take time. The full visible effects are expected to be seen 12 weeks after your treatment.

We recommend further treatments to be between 4 – 6 weeks apart for full benefits.
How many sessions do I need?

We recommend a minimum of four (4) treatments per area for maximum results.

It is important that you inform your therapist if you have any significant medical history and/or if you are taking any medications prior to treatment, otherwise just bring yourself and something to entertain you.

Post treatment

To maximise the Lipo Freeze treatment, we recommend that you minimise any significant heating of the body.

  • No hot showers for 24 hours after treatment.
  • Increased water intake.
What are the possible side effects?

You may feel a slight discomfort during the first 10-15 minutes of the treatment as the vacuum and cooling effect begins. Redness is also expected immediately following treatment. This will fade as the skin warms and returns to its normal temperature.

Possible side effects include:

  • Mild bruising at the treatment site, and 
  • Blistering (very rare)
